To provide members with information about PERA and your benefits, we have a variety of educational programs for you. If you are interested in having a PERA representative address your group, call 651-296-7460 or 1-800-652-9026, or email PERACommunications@mnpera.org to schedule a time.
We have three opportunities for educational programs. In every program, we review your benefit options, the process to apply for your retirement benefits, and show features of MY PERA. Register two weeks in advance. We encourage you to bring your spouse or other individual you may name as your survivor.

Register today at MY PERA or call 1-800-652-9026 or 651-296-7460.
If you are already registered for any of our programs and are unable to attend, please contact PERA so we can make room available for other members.
1. Group Conference. 60 minutes.
Think of a group conference as an Individual Conference with an open door. We cover much of the same information, but in a group setting. Many members find the group format quite helpful because it gives them the opportunity to hear the questions asked by others, as well as getting assistance with their own retirement questions.
2. Individual Conference. 45 minutes.
An individual conference allows you to meet individually with one of our benefit counselors. These meetings give you the opportunity to ask questions about your PERA retirement benefits and benefit options, as well as to apply for your benefit if you are within six months of retirement. Individual conferences are best suited to members applying for disability, with service under more than one Minnesota pension plan, or where divorce may impact their pension.
3. Preretirement Workshop. All Day.
These programs are for members within about five years of retirement. In addition to your PERA pension, morning sessions include information on Social Security, Medicare, and health insurance. Afternoon sessions cover financial and estate planning, and other retirement-related issues.
